A new report from a European commission document shows that the most cost effective way to take control of climate change is to take tough measures immediately, instead of slowly trying to implement new green regulations into everyday life. In fact, if the current policies are maintained as they are the research and analysis suggests that the targets set for the next decade will be easily met and surpassed, which means that it is possible to raise the goals for maximum benefits at a quicker rate that will pay back for the long term effects on the environment.
Campaigners for the green movement are using the document to take down protestors who have claimed that more ambitious targets are unreasonable with Greenpeace chef policy advisor Ruth Davis stating that the case for tougher green regulation is now unavoidable. The policy that was leaked includes plans for new regulations from the European commission that will cost heavy industry organizations anywhere from 12 to 20 billion more Euros over the next couple of years but would benefit the environment in ways that would continue to reduce the effects of climate change. Those affected by the changes include all economic sectors from transport to construction to farmers.
